Maker of the Fast Track 2+2 Timing System.
A Management Tool for Improving Drive-thru Service

Phase Research is the inventor of full-line drive-thru timing from arrival at the menu board to departure from the pickup window. The Fast Track 2+2 Timing System by Phase Research has an exceptional track record with but a few years in production and an installed base of thousands.

Customers includes chains such as McDonald's, Burger King, Carl's Jr., Hardees, Long John Silvers, Miami Subs, Taco Bell, KFC, Taco Cabana, El Pollo Loco, Wendy's, Checkers, Rally's, Arby's, Krystal, Dunkin' Donuts, Tim Hortons, Popeyes, Churchs, and many others.

Fast Track 2+2
System Overview

The Fast Track 2+2™ system by Phase Research is a state of the art timing and recording system which monitors the level of customer service in the drive-thru line of fast food restaurants.

For each car in the line, the system measures, stores and displays event times as follows: greet delay at the menu board, total time at the menu board, time at the pay window, time at the pickup window, and overall time from arrival at the menu board to departure from the pickup window. The pay and pickup windows may be combined, and here can be two drive-thru lines per system. Please see our animated diagram for operation.

The system further summarizes the collected data, grades performance against predefined targets, and makes summary reports available for display, printout, and downloading. Reports and a detailed event log can also be downloaded to a computer using optional download software, which is available now.

The presence of each car is automatically and reliably detected by an underground detector loop in the driveway in front of each menu board and service window. This, plus electronic interfacing to the restaurant's existing intercom and wireless headset systems, guarantees accuracy by removing the human element from the timing process.

Benefits of Fast Track 2+2System

By measuring the time to greet the customer, total time at the menu board, time at each service window, and total time in line, Fast Track 2+2 is able to:

Assess the speed and efficiency of the overall drive-thru service.
Provide data for evaluating the various drive-thru steps to discover bottlenecks, optimize procedures, adjust staff levels, and set service or shift standards.
Monitor and record the efficiency of employees, even when management is not present.
Give employees real-time feedback about their performance against targets set by management.
Show service times to customers, demonstrating that the restaurant cares about efficient service and customer satisfaction.
Improve the level of service to drive-thru customers, thereby encouraging repeat business, increasing sales and increasing profits.
Improve utilization and raise capacity of the restaurant's drive-thru facilities.

Outstanding Features of Fast Track 2+2

Highest level of quality and track record of reliable performance in the field. All electronics are burned in prior to shipment.
Time-proven, real-time computer output and download software available now for connection to a computer or modem. Three standard downloadable reports.
User programming of four (4) target times for each event to allow letter grading (A-B-C-D-F) of performance, as opposed to simple pass-fail grading.
Unique "Night Manager" function for drive-thru surveillance and theft deterrence when manager is absent.
Large 3" x 4" (7.6 x 10.2 cm) LCD screen on Main Console with 16 line by 20 character display for viewing information a full page at a time. This avoids scrolling, makes setup and usage user-friendly.
Dual-sided, ultra-bright, large-digit Remote Displays with 2 3/4" (7.0 cm) high digits for bi-directional viewing by management and employees.
Main Console and Remote Displays have functional, modern appearance. Made of rugged metal and finished in environmentally safe, durable, baked-on blue powder coating.
Universal interfacing to any commercial brand of headset or intercom.

Rapid Payback of Fast Track 2+2
